Candy Store Operations: Build the Routine around Product Movement

A shop routine follows the product from delivery to sale or disposition. Map that movement before writing a long checklist.
Start with the decision
Define receiving, storage, opening, refilling, serving and closing responsibilities. Keep product identity and required handling information with stock as it crosses locations.
Work through the details
Walk one frequent-selling item through the route and one exception through the escalation process. Mark places where cartons, bags, tools or held products temporarily wait; these often expose gaps in the fixture plan.

A planning example
The closing team reports empty bins, while the opening team finds reserve stock in several unlabelled cupboards. Map the locations and define one refill handover before ordering more containers. An operating problem can originate in storage identity even when the sales display looks well organised.
Check it in the shop
Leave a short handover that identifies unfinished work and its location. Review recurring obstacles with staff, then improve a specific shelf, container or storage position instead of expanding the checklist indefinitely.

Frequently asked questions
Should operations and fixture planning be separate exercises?
Review them together. Stock movement, cleaning, service and handover determine whether the physical layout is useful.
